Partnering with the 3rd sector
We actively support social enterprise companies and third sector groups - partnering with them to optimise their potential benefit.
For example, we have worked closely with Sandwell-based DORCAS Housing to provide training and employment opportunities for women and people from black and minority ethnic communities in construction.
In partnership with Cartrefi Conwy, we have employed Crest Co-operative, who provide training and jobs for offenders and people with learning disabilities, as a waste management partner.
Our local employment and training strategies are recognised as exemplars of best practice by the Welsh Assembly Government and are represented as case studies for other organisations to follow, maximising the benefit to local communities.
We are committed to reducing our environmental impact, with key initiatives being:
- Think Local - recruiting and employing local people and sub-contractors wherever possible
- Source Green - working closely with our Clients and supply chain to find the most environmentally sustainable products and materials
- Work Smart - a strong emphasis on the use of IT to rationalise our operations, reduce vehicle journeys, remove duplication and provide electronic alternatives to paper
- Waste Not, Want Not - our award-winning initiative in which waste materials such as kitchens and bathrooms are removed directly from site and carefully sorted, salvaged and recycled
- Green technologies - as one of the country’s leading renewable energy installers we are constantly seeking to identify new and innovative products and materials that will provide sustainable energy solutions
- Creating a smaller footprint - as part of our ISO 14001 accreditation we continuously review our carbon footprint and develop new procedures to reduce it.
