Purchase teams are encouraged to play an active part in the neighbourhoods in which they are based.

We believe it is a privilege to have a hand in shaping new and existing communities and it is essential that we know what brings them alive.

Meetings, newsletters, websites, residents committees, liaison officers and fun days are all ways of testing opinion but there is no substitute for being part of people’s lives. Only then can we understand the small things that make a real difference.

We get to know the neighbourhood, the job scene, the local issues and we listen to what people say.

Instead of telling them what we can provide, we ask residents what they would like to see.

We have a strong sense of responsibility to the neighbourhoods we serve and are determined to leave a lasting legacy of sustainability in every community we work within.

In practise we have local development plans that are tailored specifically to the needs of the community, ensuring the projects we get involved in make a difference.
